Patience people. October will come soon enough. I'm sure the new album will be worth the wait. It's not as if they've been wasting their time all these years doing nothing. If you're anxious for samples from the new one, that probably isn't going to happen until a month or so in advance of the release. Maybe in the interim they'll pull one or two more surprises out for their live gigs. Who knows? Until then, happy waiting and enjoy your day.

Jordanna, going by what Jay Kay said recently, the new album will be released in October (check out Wikipedia). Granted he did also say that it would be out in September beforehand. Actually, the new album sounds like it's been worked on since early 2008. Your guess is as good as mine as to why it took so long. Derrick said in an interview that the new album features more string & horn arrangements than recent outings, an obvious allusion to their early material. We've only heard one track thus far out of twelve, 'Rock Dust Light Star', and that has a kind of psychodelic space-rock-funk vibe to it but doesn't really incorporate strings/horns from what I heard so who knows? This new album may cover a lot of territory.
